The name “Lane42” stems from the reality that investors are in an endless pursuit of answers. With the nature of the changing credit cycle and the need to constantly work with incomplete information, investors are forever in transit and never actually arrive.
The word “Lane” refers to the ever-changing road on which we will travel as investors. It is also the middle name of our founder, CEO, and CIO, Scott L. Graves. The number “42” is an ode to Douglas Adams’ book “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” where the supercomputer, Deep Thought, answers the ultimate question of life and the universe with the number “42”.
We believe our name will be a reinforcing message to embrace investment curiosity and be repetitively relentless about the quality, integrity, and consistency of our investment process.
